In Gain, you can create and organize content in any format around a calendar inside a Files Channel. In this article, we will go over everything you need to know about creating content for your Files Channels.

To create new content, first, make sure your Files Channel has been set up successfully. You will know your channel is correctly set up because it will show up under Channels in the Filters panel.

Now, click on the +New Content button or hover over the date in the calendar and click on the New Content icon.

Important: Files, with the exception of video files, are converted from their original format to PDFs after they are uploaded to Gain and when they are downloaded.

Manage Files content

Files work much like the other channels you manage in Gain with one exception. You can send content for approval and add a publishing date but content created in Files Channels cannot be scheduled. This is because content created here will not actually be published anywhere. You can only add a “publish date” as a reference to your content to make sure it shows up on the calendar.

Important: Any content drafts without a publish date will show up in the List View.

Identify Files content

Each social media channel inside Gain can be identified by their icons and colors. Files have a different logo that helps to identify them in the calendar or list views.

In both views, you will see the Files icon, the file type, and the name of the channel.
