There are four possible reasons why content may occasionally fail to publish on your social channels.
- The social channel gets disconnected. We use the social network's API to post content, which requires an access token. The duration of these tokens varies depending on the social network, but they typically last between 30 to 60 days. When a social channel gets disconnected, we will notify you through in-app alerts and emails, and you will need to reconnect the channel to allow publishing again.
- Clients or stakeholders approve after the designated publish date. In such cases, you'll see a note in the Activity of the post(s) indicating an error scheduling your content.
You'll also receive email notifications when Gain can't schedule or publish posts, but it is always best practice to ensure stakeholders approve content before the publish date.
- An Instagram account is not a Business profile. Instagram does not allow third-parties like Gain to publish automatically to Personal accounts, but Gain supports publishing for business and creator accounts. You can quickly fix this by reconnecting your accounts as Business accounts; see this article for step-by-step guidance.
- Temporary issues with the API that prevent content from being published. Although these happen less frequently, we evaluate them on a case-by-case basis. See your post(s) Activity and contact Support via live chat or email support@gainapp.com. Include your Post ID number.
